Google Goggles Auto-Searches Your Photos Following New Update
Google has launched an update to its Google Goggles searching application for Android devices that introduces an awesome new feature for photo searching. When you take a snap on your Android device, the latest version of Google Goggles will automatically search your image for things like landmarks, paintings, and other recognizable objects.
You don’t even have to open the Google Goggles application for the feature to work: simply enable it in the application’s settings and it will work in the background every time you take a snap. If your image features something that Goggles can recognize, the app will notify you.
That’s pretty darn cool if you ask me. What’s more, Google says you can share the feature’s findings with your friends:
“Let’s say that I’m going on vacation, and I decide to use my Android-powered phone as my primary camera.
“Goggles would identify landmarks, paintings and other interesting objects in my photos. I can share these facts about my vacation with my friends right from my Goggles search history.”
The 1.6 update is available to download now from the Android Market, and works on devices running Android 2.1 and above.
