BBX is Now BlackBerry 10

RIM has changed the name of its next-generation operating system from BlackBerry X to BlackBerry 10. A court barred RIM from using the “BBX” name after a trademark dispute arose between the phone manufacturer and a company called Basis International.

Basis originally threatened legal action against RIM in October when it originally announced plans to call the OS BBX, and officially won the case yesterday. BBX is the original name for the Business Basic interpreter developed by the company, and is a term it has been using since 1985.
