Jobs, Schmidt, and Zuckerberg To Meet With Obama Today

Official_portrait_of_Barack_ObamaPresident Obama will meet with three heavyweights in the world of technology today. The President is holding an event with business leaders in San Francisco this evening. Among the people on the guest list? Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.

So what’s the event all about? According to the White House: “The president and the business leaders will discuss our shared goal of promoting American innovation, and discuss his commitment to new investments in research and development, education and clean energy.”

Obama spoke a great deal about technology in his recent State of the Union address. Last week the White House also detailed Obama’s plan to bring 4G wireless service to 98% of the country, by freeing up part of the spectrum currently used and owned by broadcast television companies, as well as the government.

What do you think will be on the agenda at the meeting?
