In is what has become a tradition with Apple announcements, the online version of the Apple Store has put up its infamous “We’ll be back soon.” post-it note.

Why in the world in 2011 Apple still needs to pull their site off-line to update it is beyond us, but the simple post-it image has come to symbolize that new goodies are on the way, so we won’t argue with it.  True, Apple has done this occasionally for maintenance issues, but with the iPhone event today we somehow doubt that is the case.

Will it come back with an iPhone 4S?  The iPhone 5?  Support for Sprint?  We shall soon find out.  In the meantime, be sure to follow our iPhone 5 live blog for all of the latest news.
