Netflix Brings New Tablet UI to the iPad

New Netflix UI on iPad

Netflix introduced a wonderful new tablet user interface to its Android app not so long ago, which — unlike some of company’s recent introductions (Qwikster?) — was very well received by Netflix subscribers. It’s now available on the iPad with the latest update to the Netflix app for iOS, and it looks just as good.

The new user interface is a significant improvement over the last design, and aims to provide users with “greater focus” on the Netflix catalog. It certainly does that by offering users a lot more space in which to peruse Netflix’s vast library of content. In fact, it now displays twice as many movies and TV shows as before, according to the company:

“The new design is much more immersive and provides greater focus on the growing number of titles in the Netflix catalog,” said the company.

“In fact, the new interface displays twice as many movies and TV shows as before, enabling you to discover even more titles you’ll love.

“Also, we’ve taken greater advantage of the tablet’s unique features, inviting you to swipe through rows of titles featuring larger artwork.”

There is still one thing missing from Netflix 2.0, however, and that’s AirPlay. That means you still can’t stream Netflix content from your iOS device to your Apple TV over Wi-Fi. Although, the Apple TV does have its own Netflix app built-in.

What do you think of the redesigned Netflix app for iPad?
