Internet Explorer Continues To Regain Market Share
Fortunes are changing in the browser wars, and while Internet Explorer had been sliding forever, it slowly reversed the trend last month, and it’s continuing that momentum. Will it last? Who knows, but it’s interesting to see where the market share is coming from.
While not as big as last month, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer picked up another .42 percent in July, bringing its two month gain to just over one percent according to the measurements of NetMarketshare.

Chrome and Firefox both took hits this month with a good chunk of those users seemingly switching back to Internet Explorer.
Lets face it, Opera is never going to break out of the range it’s in. It isn’t a horrible place to be, and the people who do use it swear by it, but I just don’t think we’ll ever see it break out of this 2.3 to 2.5 percent area.
That aside, while everyone has been focusing on what’s going on with Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox, Apple’s Safari has been quietly climbing up the charts and broke through the five percent barrier this month. We don’t know if this is just due to the number of new Mac customers out there, if iOS copies are sorted out or if it could be people downloading it Windows machines. Whatever the case may be, Apple is creeping up the wall without anyone really paying attention to it.
The most interesting thing is what is happening with Internet Explorer. You constantly hear how much people dislike this browser, but yet it’s creeping back up the chart slowly. It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few months.
