California Observes Steve Jobs Day
California Governor Jerry Brown announced Friday night that today would be “Steve Jobs Day” in California. Apple had already planned an invitation-only memorial service at Stanford for today, where several “prominent Silicon Valley executives” were expected to pay their respects to the Apple co-founder. Another private event will be held next week on Apple’s Cupertino campus for Apple employees.
Steve Jobs gave the commencement speech at Stanford in 2005. The speech is filled with memorable Jobs quotes, include quite a few dealing with death, including his own. If you haven’t ever watched the speech (no matter what you think of Apple), I highly recommend giving it a good watch.
If you want to share your own memories or thoughts about Steve Jobs you can do so by emailing Apple at rememberingsteve@apple.com.
