BuffaloBuzz Episode 13: BlackBerry Gets Jiggy With It

The weekly BuffaloBuzz is back with another episode.  This week, we take a look at:

  • In the U.S., you can pre-order your iPad and have it by Saturday, April 3rd.  Pre-order date is set for March .  Both versions will hit Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K. in late April.  Starting March 12, consumers can preorder both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple’s online store or reserve a Wi-Fi version to pick up on April 3 at any Apple retail store.
  • Google Announced Thursday that its subsidiary video-sharing website, YouTube will be offering auto-captioning to its millions of users worldwide in the hopes of extending accessibility offered to viewers in its videos to those hearing-impaired.
  • Will tethering be supported on the iPad to connect your 3G iPhone connection to the device, avoiding the need to purchase the iPad’s data plan via AT&T?  We’ll take a look at that.
  • Images surfaced this week via CrackBerry.com of a new style of the BlackBerry where the Storm touch-screen meets the Bold keyboard and is packed in the Palm Pre design.
  • Microsoft said on Friday that it plans to finalize the code for Office 2010 next month and, as expected, it kicked off a program enabling those who buy Office 2007 in the coming months to get a free upgrade to the new version.
