Amazon Introducing Cloud Search Service Tomorrow?

Amazon Web ServicesWhen you’re a small business looking to make a positive online impression, site visibility can be a huge deciding factor in helping a company grow. That’s what makes site content and search engines (Google, Yahoo!, Bing) so crucial. For years now, Google has not only been the top search site, but the top online destination. Competitors have gone up against the Mountain View-based juggernaut, but so far none have gotten close. PandoDaily has it on good authority that Amazon will introduce something tailored toward startups that will reportedly challenge Google’s dominance.

The new report believes Amazon is set to introduce a new cloud search product that “ups the ante significantly,” potentially spelling bad news for Google. The online retailer has supposedly sent out emails to a select few ahead of an announcement the company has planed for tomorrow at 9 am PST.

Amazon’s cloud search is said to be aimed at competing with Google’s site search that’s currently found on millions of sites. But this new offering will be different in that it will allow companies hosted on Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) “to pass their data through [the search] and get any results they want. Companies can run any query and get immediate, easy results.”

According to sources who spoke with PandoDaily, the new product will be “a game changer.” If Amazon does make an announcement tomorrow, we’ll be sure to bring you all the juicy details. It sounds interesting, and could really make a difference for startups hosted on Amazon EC2.
