Samsung NX200 Camera Carries the Mirrorless Torch

On the coattails of Sony’s NEX-7 and NEX-5N announcements, Samsung has blasted out their newest addition to the company’s mirrorless interchangeable lens fleet. Meet the Samsung NX200. The mirrorless ILC (Interchangeable Lens Camera) is equipped with a 20.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and is capable of high-speed shooting at up to 7fps with 100 millisecond Advanced Auto Focus. The Samsung NX200 will also bring the following entrees to the table:

  • 100-12,800 ISO range
  • Full 1920 x 1080 HD video recording at 30fps with 720p at 60fps in the H.264 format
  • i-Function lens with shutter speed, aperture, exposure value (EV), white balance (WB), and ISO control
  • Several new i-Function lenses available in 18-200mm, 16mm, 60mm and 85mm focal lengths
  • 10 different Smart Filter effects, six of which can be easily accessed through the i-Function lens
  • Magic Frame technology enables the user to encapsulate their pictures with thirteen different stylized frames
  • 3.0-inch VGA AMOLED display

The highly enticing Samsung NX200 will ship in late September for $900. Will you be holding out for a Sammy or a Sony?
