Palm Pre Plus: Mobile Hotspot Demo

Posted on February 1st, 2010 in Palm 0 Comments

There is a lot to like about WebOS and the Palm Pre in General, but the mobile hotspot feature on the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, make a great platform even better.  Both devices have the capability (for a price) to suck in Verizon’s EVDO 3G signal and kick it out as a WiFi that you and four fiends can connect to.  Speeds aren’t blazing, but they are certainty fast enough for everyday surfing and e-mailing.   Of course, this dose of awesomeness doesn’t come cheap, Verizon will tack on an extra $40 to your bill (for 5GB of data), which is still $20 less than they charge for the same data plan on their MiFi device, which does the same thing.  At the end of the day, it is a nice value add to well rounded smartphone platform.
