So i think it’s definitely time to see an OS upgrade for the iPad but since the iPad is still yet to be released in some countries, I think, then we wont see a OS refreshment similar to iOS 4.0 in some time.

What I really hope for however is in this little list I have gathered day to day when using my prescios tablet.

General Upgrades.

Multitasking. Folders. When no Application is placed in the dock it will disappear and all thumbnails will spread.

YouTube Application.

This built in app has so much potential to be really good but the frustrating features it lacks makes the application one of the iPads worst.

Better search results. World wide results, not regional, such as the most viewed videos. All subscriptions to be displayed on subs’ page.  Channels. Vevo Videos ( I cant seem to find videos such as Bad Romance which is the 2nd most video). Thumbs Up Rating System. Your own channel, video suggestions when searching.

Photos

Album, Events and Places management system so you can create your own albums or events in the iPad.

Safari

Favorites website page syncs with safari on Mac or PC. ‘Open in new page behind current page’ option. Browser bar will fade away after 5 seconds if the top of page is not tapped.

Calendar

This goes for all apple calendar applications. A birthday option so you wont get woken up at 00:00 when it is a friends birthday set to an event that lasts ‘all day’.

iTunes

Allow songs being previewed to continue playing when browsing.

Maps

A way to access street view instantly, not just when displaying a search result.

Mail

When in the ‘edit’ option to select emails add a ‘make: read/un-read’ button.

App Store

In specific categories add a ‘Free Apps’ button.

Well thats probably It.

Im sure there are a lot more than that but thats all i can remember off the top of my head.

One huge feature I need is multitasking so when I accedentaly hit the home button when atching a video or reading a flipboard article I will go straight home and cant go back to my original place. If i could double tap the button because I am quick enoght to hold onto the button I can abort the termionation of the application and if I do go back to it it is saved by multitasking!

Other Purchased Apple Applications.

iBooks.

Allow books to purchase in countries such as NZ. I don’t care if they are in American language if that’s causing the delay.

Allow higher capacity PDFs to be loaded onto the iPad. If you do a lot of business and need to review large documents (that you converted into PDF) the PDF document wont be added to the iPad and you are not notified. I had a 32 MB PDF document and it would not appear on the iPad when synced.

Remote

A Hi-Res app for controlling itunes and possibly other iPods/iPhones.

YAY!

I’m getting the next iPhone but first I had to get an iPad, why?
My iPad isn’t a necessity however it is something that will become my quick email, internet and gaming console.
My iPad is a luxury, it is my media consumption device which I use when I don’t need to sit at my desk in front of my iMac.
My iMac is what I use to do work.
My iPad is what I use to relax.
My [yet to be] iPhone is what I use to communicate
and
My iPad is what sits in between my Desktop device and my Handled device.

Unfortunately iPad comes out in July in New Zealand so I had to try to get one early. I received mine in late May, I really wanted to get one in late April but my plans changed and I couldnt pick one up in the USA.
The upside is that right now they are fairly rare and I know of some people who may be a bit jealous.

My apologies to any readers out there. I have been busy with work and vacation. As some of you have experienced the feeling, I hadn’t really been motivated to post.
As the title may have foreshadowed, I now have an iPad! Yes i do live in New Zealand and you may have read that it’s coming in July so it was a bit of an expense to get it here, not to mention the failed attempts at buying it when my dad when over to San Francisco and every single iPad had been sold in the bay area!

First Impressions..

Sorry It has been a wile since I posted. I wanted to share a problem that I have on my iMac’s Dock.

The Dock has become almost invisible.
The reflective aspect still works, so when I drag windows down to the bottom of the screen they are reflected but the icons or the grey colour
on the dock don’t appear
My background is reflected too.
At the moment I have been accessing my applications in the finder via my USB Flashdrive.

As you may know Super Mario Galaxy 2 the sequel to Wii’s most successful ‘non bundled’ game of all time is due to be released this year.

Nintendo has just announced a new Nintendo Wii. There are no extra features but the design has changed to black instead of white.

There are also three new sets of remones and nunchuk’s.

Black, Pink and Turquoise/Blue!

The Black remote comes with a matte black cover and a black Wii Motion Plus however the other colours come with the original silicone sleve and motion plus.

I would have loved to see a matte colour, like the new DSi however they probably considered that option and decided that glossy was better, for aesthetic and other reasons like heating and possibly ergonomics (gripping).

NB: The original Nintendo Wii is still available for purchase.

The Black Wii will be released on March 11 (at least in Aus and NZ)

This beautiful webste is full of games and applications just for your enjoyment. It has been made by a game designer who tends to design simple online games for disney or cartoon network.

There are 57 different games to choose from and are all  beautifully developed each game has a different theme to it and tend to involve cute animals or people.

The style of every game is slightly cartoonish and has a slightly asian look to it

A new game is added probably every year or so and each one is original and very enjoyable.

I really do recommend you try and check out this website, I may add a review of some of my favorite games which happen to be ‘Winter Bells’ and ‘Sunny Day Sky’

The Magic Mouse is an amazing and revolutionary device created to do amazing things. Unfortunately out of the box the mouse doesn’t do much and certainly doesn’t have the capabilities of the apples older generation, the Apple Mouse or Mighty Mouse as you may have known it. Accessing the dashboard or invoking expose isn’t possible by clicking the mouse in a certain way, but Magic Prefs makes it possible.

This free application which you can download literally in seconds gives you the freedom to apply and click, tap or swipe to your Magic Mouse so you can activate any feature in the OS!

Today MagicPrefs updated the software fixing a bug that wouldn’t allow you to activate the dashboard. Now its possible which is great! They also added a new feature to the program called Magic Menu, This is like a menu brought on my ether clicking above the Apple Logo or tapping with three fingers and it allows you to do more tasks when working. Personally I dont like to use it because it makes doing these tasks like copying/pasting , clearing the desktop or whatever you choose a bit slower.

If you own a Magic Mouse there is no reason why you shouldnt have this application. Its so handy and really briongs out the capabilities of the magic mouse. This may be the only way to get the software for the mouse, i don’t expect apple to update the mouses software themselves.

The settings i use for the magic mouse currently is:

3 Finger Tap = Expose

3 Finger Click = Reveal Desktop

2 Finger Swipe UP = Dashboard
