The Nintendo NX hasn’t even officially been revealed yet, and we might have a small picture of what to expect from the platform in terms of software. We could be seeing a Smash Bros. game at launch.

While the insider wouldn’t give away his source, Kantan Games CEO Serkan Toto took to Twitter to reveal that “Bandai Namco is currently developing several NX titles.” One of those titles? Smash Bros.. Here’s the tweet in question.

Of course, Toto was hit with several follow-up questions from followers. One German follower asked if this would be a “new Smash,” and Toto said “exactly” and that it’s being made for the NX. That was clarified, though.

To be clear, Toto has a track record of solid rumors. He’s the one who revealed Nintendo’s mobile development plans before Nintendo did. He’s not one to randomly spout out unsubstantiated rumors on Twitter without a solid source.

This could be huge news for Nintendo. Based on how long it takes to make Smash Bros. games, I doubt Nintendo is ready to launch a completely new experience. This is likely going to be a Nintendo NX take on the Smash game that’s out for the 3DS and Wii U.

So, what do you think? Could Nintendo be trying to line up Smash for an insane launch on the NX?
