Some believe Apple isn’t committed to Beats’ hardware business, but the company this week launched its new Beats Powerbeats 2 earphones that are a perfect companion for Apple Watch. Not only are they wireless, but they also come in exactly the same color options as the Apple Watch Sport.
The new earphones are identical to and cost the same as the original Powerbeats2, which went on sale last June and are still available to purchase from the Apple Online Store. The only difference is, the new options come in green, blue, pink, black, and white to match the Apple Watch bands.
You can order the new Powerbeats2 from the Apple Online Store, priced at $199.95 — or you can get them from an Apple retail store, where they are being afforded “a significant amount of promotional space,” MacRumors reports.
Bluetooth connectivity makes the Powerbeats2 ideal for pairing with the Apple Watch, as well as mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad, and Bluetooth-equipped laptops and desktops. Apple promises a 30-foot range, with 6 hours of battery life in between charges.
The Powerbeats2 are also IPX4-certified for sweat- and water-resistance, and they have an inline remote and microphone, which lets you make and receive calls and control music playback. They also come with a hard-shell carrying case for protection.
