Last week we showed you an exclusive look at AT&T’s LG G3 variant, and today the carrier confirmed it will open up pre-orders for the new flagship phone starting on July 8. Alongside the beastly new smartphone, AT&T says it will be selling the G Watch directly to customers later this week at a huge discount.
AT&T is offering the G3 for $200 with a two-year contract, or $0 with the carrier’s Next program. Meanwhile the G Watch is going for $229, though AT&T says it’s offering “50 percent on select LG premium accessories including the G Watch” for a limited time (through Sept. 11, 2014) when you buy the G3 or G Flex. The same deal also covers LG’s Quick Circle Folio Case for the G3 or the Tone Ultra Bluetooth Stereo Headset.
The LG G3 offers some of the best specs around, and it may just be our favorite smartphone of the year so far despite fierce competition from both Samsung and HTC. It packs a 5.5-inch 2k display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 3000mAh battery and a 13-megapixel OIS camera. You’ll be able to pick one up from AT&T starting on July 11, though you can pre-order the new phone as early as tomorrow.
As for the G Watch, if you need to try out Android Wear right now it’s probably your best option, though Samsung’s Gear Live is slightly cheaper and offers a built-in heart-rate monitor. With AT&T offering 50 percent off LG’s new smartwatch it might be worth another look.
