Samsung has already unveiled a couple of Galaxy S5 variants, including the Galaxy S5 Active and the Galaxy S5 LTE-A edition, but the company hasn’t provided any details on the rumored Galaxy S5 mini. Despite its silence, however, the phone is still expected to launch within the next couple of weeks according to a new report.
SamMobile said Monday that it has learned Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S5 mini around the world in mid-July, which is just a couple of weeks from now. The Galaxy S4 mini launched in July of last year, so the report isn’t too far fetched.
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S5 mini will offer a 4.5-inch screen with a 720p resolution, some sort of new Exynos 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.4.2. The Galaxy S4 mini launched on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the United States, so it’s possible the Galaxy S5 will get the same wide availability. SamMobile did not identify specific carriers or launch markets, however.
