Amazon just announced its first smartphone, the Fire Phone, and the device will launch on AT&T, according to AT&T’s site. It will apparently cost $199.99 with a new two-year agreement and 32GB of storage. A second model with 64GB of storage will cost $299.99 with a new two-year agreement.
The Amazon Fire Phone is loaded with features like MayDay, a dynamic perspective “3D” display that changes depending on the viewing angle you’re looking at it from, a 13-megapixel camera, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and more. It’s also totally customized for Amazon and the company’s ecosystem of apps, music, videos, books and more. A unique Firefly feature can scan more than 100 million items, allowing you to purchase them direct from Amazon.
The phone is exclusive to AT&T, so if you want it outside of the U.S. it sounds like you’re out of luck right now. The device should also be available unlocked without a contract, and we’ll let you know if we hear more information on that front. It launches July 25.
