HTC’s next flagship smartphone, the device expected to follow the HTC One, may be called… the HTC One. According to a new report from Bloomberg published Friday, HTC’s new device will “carry the HTC One name.” Seems a bit crazy to us, at least if HTC is trying to distinguish its new phone from an old one, but it’s not unheard of in the industry.
So what can we expect from the phone? Bloomberg reiterates rumors that it will have a 5-inch display and “Qualcomm’s later Snapdragon processor” which likely means the Snapdragon 800 chip that most other flagships have right now. The news outlet also says it has learned that HTC is adding an improved Ultrapixel camera with that offers “better focus, depth of field and image quality.” Color us interested — the HTC One had a fantastic camera to start with.
Bloomberg says the device is scheduled to launch at the end of March. That means the company may very well introduce it during February’s Mobile World Congress show in Spain. HTC declined to comment when contacted by TechnoBuffalo.
