Shares of Twitter, stock symbol TWTR, began trading this morning at around 10:49 a.m. EST at $45.10. The company’s IPO price was set at $26 by the company’s exec team last night after hours. Right now Wall Street is watching the stock to make sure that there aren’t any of the same mishaps that happened when Facebook began trading on the Nasdaq.
Twitter’s initial public offering (IPO) is considered one of the biggest of the year, and the company’s IPO valuation came in at about $18 billion. Twitter has its skeptics, however, who want to see how it will turn a profit and generate additional revenue moving forward. We’ll be keeping an eye on TWTR today and will report back with any big news.
