If you’ve been eying up the Nintendo Land Deluxe Wii U bundle for the last year, but have yet to dish out the scratch for it, it looks like you might be too late. That bundle is going the way of the dodo.
Don’t fret, Nintendo has elected to replace it with something that’s more appealing anyways.
Starting Nov 1, 2013, Nintendo will sell what they’re dubbing the Mario & Luigi Deluxe Set version of the Wii U. It will cost $299, include a black 32GB Wii U and both New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U. The Nintendo Land bundle, thanks to this new set, is no more.
Scrapping Nintendo Land in favor of something more intriguing is a great idea on Nintendo’s part. Perhaps my only disappointment stems from the fact that there’s nothing special about the console in this bundle. At least the Wind Waker HD bundle featured a unique GamePad. It would have been nice to see something similar here.
Still, it’ll likely sell better than the one with Nintendo Land.
