Target has confirmed that it will offer its own prepaid mobile plan called Brightspot.
Starting Sunday, Target customers can sign up for the plan at $50 a month, which offers unlimited data, talking, and texting, with high speed use capped at 1GB a month. Those not interested in data can cast it aside for a cheaper $35 unlimited text and talk only plan.
As an added bonus, Target customers will also get a $25 gift certificate every six months they are a subscriber to the plan.
“Target guests have been asking us for new mobile plan options to meet their changing needs,” said Target VP of Electronics John Butcher, “Brightspot combines the flexibility of a pre-paid program with 4G data on one of the nation’s premier networks.”
Brightspot will be using T-Mobile’s network. Target offers phones for sale, from simple flip phones to more advance smartphones, and any compatible phone can be accessed with the plan if unlocked.
Target’s new prepaid Brightspot plan comes not long after Walmart launched its own Straight Talk plan.
