Back in early August, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside hinted we would see a low-cost version of the Moto X in the next few months. Since then we haven’t heard much about the rumored smartphone, until this weekend, when an FCC filing detailing the device was spotted.
Based on this first batch of leaked photos, Motorola’s upcoming smartphone features a similar design to the flagship Moto X, though its speaker grill and front camera clearly differentiate it from the full-sized model. An accompanying set of documents list the device as GSM and WCDMA compatible, too.
Earlier this month, Republic Wireless may have confirmed the device as well. Soon after the carrier announced it would offer the flagship Moto X, its parent company released a photo from a power point presentation describing the Motorola DVX as a “low-cost alternative” the full-sized device.
