Samsung already confirmed it’s going to announce the Galaxy Gear smartwatch on Sept. 4 and, in case you needed any other evidence, a new image showing off a piece of the alleged software has been leaked by @evleaks. The photo suggests that the model number of the watch is “SM-V700.”
It also shows that the device can be paired with a smartphone by establishing a Bluetooth connection after tapping the phone to your Galaxy Gear charger. The tap, it seems, uses NFC to establish that connection automatically. Like Sony’s smartwatch software, it looks like Samsung will have different apps available for its smartphone, in addition to watch faces, and the ability to find a lost watch.
This looks good so far, let’s just hope the rumors about 10 hours of battery life aren’t true.
