Twitter on Wednesday rolled out an update to its iOS and Android apps (and its website), allowing users to more easily discover and follow conversations.
Fashioned in a familiar messaging layout, the new look now connects conversations with a visible vertical line so it’s easy to follow along. Up to three Tweets in sequence will show up in your home timeline, which you can then tap on to see every reply and even join in yourself, as per usual. There are also smaller additions, such as being able to share individual Tweets over email (or direct message via Android), and the ability to report individual Tweets for abuse or spam.
Twitter also said it optimized the size of its Android applications for entry-level devices that don’t have a lot of storage to spare. It says, for specific devices such as the HTC Explorer, Samsung Galaxy Y and Micromax Bolt, among others, that the app is now half the size it once was. Check out the short video to see what the update looks like in action.
