How does the iPhone 5S stack up against the iPhone 5? NoWhereElse.fr took it upon itself to compare the leaked hardware images of the iPhone 5S shell with the iPhone 5. We can see that screws have been moved around, likely to accommodate for a redesigned logic board that will rest on top of the shell. The new design could also make room for the dual-LED flash and the new camera module, the site surmises.

NowherElse.fr also noticed that a leaked motherboard has screw holes that line up perfectly with those on the iPhone 5S shell, lending some support for the legitimacy of both leaked parts. There are also changes around the area where the home button will sit, which suggests that Apple is indeed changing the format of the hardware in that space – possibly by adding a home button with support for a fingerprint reader. Apple might also be changing the layout to accommodate for a new and faster processor, which could require a change in design for the heat the processor puts off, though that’s purely speculation on our part.
