A leaked Asus roadmap reveals that the company is working on a number of new mobile devices, including the MeMo Fone HD 5, PadFone mini, MeMo Pad HD 8, Transformer Pad FHD and Transformer Pad HD. The upcoming tablets, smartphones and hybrid devices were revealed during an investors presentation in France where two slides were shown behind closed doors and then leaked online soon afterward.
There’s not much to go on here, with no specs to accompany the new device names, but we can still get a sense of what the Taiwanese company has in store. The Memo Fone HD 5 is most likely a 5-inch handset, and could be the mystery smartphone headed to the U.S. next year. Meanwhile, the PadFone mini will likely be a scaled down version of the current PadFone Infinity—a two-in-one smartphone that slides into a tablet to power up the larger device.
As for the tablets, we’ve got the MeMo Pad HD 8, a traditional slate with specs similar to the PadFone HD 7 and its 1280 x 800-pixel display. There’s also the mysterious Transformer desktop, which could be rebranded versions of the 300 and Infinity or a new set of tablet-computer hybrids altogether. The Nexus 10 is a glaring omission, which seems to shoot down earlier reports that Asus was tapped to build the tablet instead of Samsung.
