It’s been over a day now since Apple’s online Dev Center went offline, blocking access to the latest iOS 7 beta and OS X Mavericks preview as well as the site’s online forum. While Apple’s developer webpage appears to be working perfectly, when you click over to the Dev Center the site serves up a maintenance message again.
“We’ll be back soon,” promises Apple, though it’s already been over 24 hours with no respite or even an update from the company. The maintenance page goes on to note, “This site is undergoing maintenance for an extended period today. Thanks for your patience.” Well folks, looks like it could be a while before we get this cleared up.
It’s unclear exactly how long the Dev Center has been offline, but Hacker News tweeted that we were at 28 hours of outage about four hours ago, putting the total at 32 hours as of about 4:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Over on Twitter, developers continue to bemoan the outage, complaining above all else that Apple has failed to offer an explanation or a timeframe for when the site may return. Considering that it’s already Friday afternoon with no answer in sight we say forget about your coding issues and enjoy the weekend, but if you end up spending the next few days endlessly refreshing your browser we won’t hold it against you.
