Apple has hired Paul Deneve, former CEO of luxury fashion house Yvez Saint Laurent, to work on “special projects” directly under Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Deneve has already worked under the wing of Apple as a Sales and Marketing Manager for Apple Europe from 1990-1997. Since then, he has become one of the biggest names in high luxury fashion, so it is unlikely that he will be returning to the sales division.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Paul Deneve to Apple,” Apple said in a statement to Bloomberg. “He’ll be working on special projects as a vice president reporting directly to Tim Cook.”
What do you think Apple has in store for a man whose company sells women’s shoes for $625 a pair and up to $5,000 for a leather jacket? Apple must have some new kind of fashionable accessory in the works, a watch perhaps.
