Motorola Mobility on Tuesday released a new advertisement for the yet-unannounced Moto X, a device that it says will be assembled in the United States. We’ve heard several rumors about the Moto X and have even been treated to several leaked photos. The device was reportedly supposed to be a huge joint undertaking between both Google and Motorola, though apparently Google eventually lost interest.
The advertisement calls in American imagery, including barbecues and fireworks, that’s appropriate for the upcoming July 4 holiday weekend. “The first smartphone that you can design yourself,” it says. “Because today you should have the freedom to design the things in your life to be as unique as you are.” The firm doesn’t specify exactly what that means, however, though we’re already intrigued.
“And this is just the beginning,” Motorola promises. “Imagine what will be possible when you have the world’s best design, engineering and manufacturing talent located here in the USA. We knew this would be a challenge. In fact, some people said it couldn’t be done. But we’re not just a company. And nothing this exciting ever comes easily.”
The advertisement ends stating that Moto X is “coming soon” and that it’s “Designed by you. Assembled in the USA.”
Sounds like we have an exciting summer coming up. Check out the full advertisement below.
