Just a heads up before watching… The language and some of the neon visuals in the trailer probably aren’t good for public spaces. Rock some headphones and go sit in a corner, friend. Or blast this trailer while you’re sitting alone in your basement, that’s what I did.

A blend of the Far Cry 3 principles and futuristic 1980s action sci-fi, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon eschews common sense and moderation as it  flies in full force with bravado and pure cheese. That’s why we’re all so jazzed about this game, right? It’s not really playing by the rules of today’s DLC.

We could have had more animals added to Far Cry 3‘s island, more character DLC or more guns. Instead, we get this twisted take on the future, and I kind of love it.

Starting today, May 1st, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon will be available on the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms. It’s $15, and you don’t need a copy of Far Cry 3 to play it.
