Who could possibly fill the shoes of colorful video game designer Peter Molyneux? The man is practically a video game character in and of himself, with his head always in the clouds and puppy dog eyes always looking to the bright future.
Well, Microsoft believes that John Needham is just the man for the job. Needham once held positions as CEO of Gazillion Entertainment and Cryptic Studios, both makers of free-to-play MMO’s, as well some senior positions at Sony Entertainment Online.
“This is a historic time in our industry and I’m excited, and honoured, to be joining Lionhead and Microsoft Studios. Our vision is focused on building innovative gaming services and triple-A experiences at Lionhead, and the rest of Microsoft Studios, which take advantage of Microsoft’s incredible hardware and software platforms.”
He will be reporting to Microsoft’s corporate vice president of interactive entertainment business, Phil Harrison.
Lionhead Studios and former CEO Peter Molyneux are best known for the Fable series. Molyneux left Lionhead Studios in 2012 following the disastrous release of Fable: The Journey.
