HTC originally began accepting pre-orders for the HTC One Developer Edition smartphone, which ships with unlocked SIM support and an unlocked bootloader, on April 5th. That device, as well as the standard unlocked model, are facing shipping delays according to a report from AndroidCentral.
“We have an important update about your order,” HTC retail said in an email to AndroidCentral. “Due to shipping issues with the 32G unlocked and 64G Developers Editions of the New HTC One®, there will be a slight delay in shipping your HTC One to you. We expect to have your phone delivered to you, via overnight shipping, before the end of April. We’ll do everything we can to get it shipped to you as soon as possible.”
HTC said there’s also a delay in the shipping times for the free case that is being provided with the developer edition. That will be available by mid-May.
