Soon after HTC announced the One, the company revealed Android 4.2 and Sense 5 would migrate to other handsets, including the One X, One X+ and Butterfly/DNA. A newly leaked list of devices getting the next-gen treatment backs up HTC’s earlier promise, with even more handsets supposedly getting the company’s fancy new skin.
According to prominent HTC insider LlabTooFeR, HTC will reportedly unleash Google’s latest build of Android to the One XL, Droid Incredible 4G LTE and EVO 4G LTE in addition to the devices listed above. But even better, each of the devices will receive Sense 5 dressed on top of Jelly Bean, giving plenty of users access to HTC’s fancy BlinkFeed feature.
Of course, features like BoomSound and Zoe will still be exclusive to the One, but Jelly Bean should bring enough features to the older handsets that users won’t even notice. Right now, it’s unclear when the updates will hit, but LlabTooFeR suggests a projected roll out is planned for this summer. So still a few months away, but it’s good to know that some of the company’s older devices aren’t being left behind.
