Metal Gear Solid V has been revealed. And, in typical Hideo Kojima fashion, even the announcement feels like a ball of yarn that needs to be slowly unraveled.

Way back in December of 2012, the internet was getting wind of The Phantom Pain and the fact that it was actually a Metal Gear game. All of those rumblings have been confirmed as this new GDC trailer for Metal Gear Solid V features moments from the original The Phantom Pain trailer.

The new trailer above is also inter-spliced with moments from Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. If we’re piecing this together correctly, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the real version of these two fake games, bundled up.

All of this news is going down as part of Konami’s presentation at GDC. As for which systems to expect Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on? The end of the trailer shows the logos for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We’ll have more on this one as it comes.
