Amazon-Kindle-Fire-HD-X-Ray

When Amazon introduced the Kindle Fire HD, the company also unveiled a neat feature called X-Ray for movies that pulls information from IMDB and puts it right onto your screen. And now it’s available for select TV shows. The feature is better than you think.

X-Ray displays which actor is currently in a scene and, if you click on a particular actor’s name, it’ll give you a full biography and filmography. It’s a more elegant and faster way than asking yourself, “What other movie was that actor in?” and then running to Google for the answer (which you’ll probably find on IMDB anyway).

It was only a matter of time before X-Ray migrated over to TV, where some pretty amazing shows are dazzling audiences everywhere. The feature is still powered by the Amazon-owned IMDB, so you’ll get a similar experience if you’ve used it for movies; the option, incidentally, is dead simple to use, and merely requires a user to tap on the screen and up will pop which actors are on screen.

Right now, X-Ray is only available on the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, along with Amazon Instant video on the Wii U (odd); Amazon still hasn’t said if it’ll crossover to other platforms. The full list of supported TV shows is below.
