Well, I hope you really liked sailing and combat set aboard ships, because it looks like a massive chunk of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will take place on boats.
The news comes from an internal Q&A done up by Ubisoft and then sent around to press outlets after Assassin’s Creed IV was announced. One particular portion of the document highlighted the ratio of land and sea-based campaign moments. Here’s the verbage, thanks to VideoGamer:
“…mission wise, land missions will represent approximately 60% of the game and naval ones 40%. But if you take the global experience that players will leave with [AC4] we’re more talking about 50-50.”
For fans of the naval sections in Assassin’s Creed III, this news is pretty awesome. However, if you found yourself wishing for virtual earth beneath your feet every time you stepped aboard a ship in the last game, the notion that nearly 50% of Black Flag is water based might not be so hot.
How does this affect your perception of Assassin’s Creed IV? Are you pumped to command a vessel this often, or would you rather stick to epic climbs and wooded scenery?
