Of all of Ubisoft’s games released over the last few years, one of its biggest splashes was created by a game that hasn’t even been launched yet.

Not much has been mentioned or shown regarding Beyond Good and Evil 2 since the original debut in 2008. Michel Ancel’s sequel to the 2003 cult-favorite, Beyond Good and Evil, has long been written off by many fans as a hopeless dream with Ancel thrown back to work on Rayman games since then.

However, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that not all hope is lost.

When asked whether or not Beyond Good and Evil 2 would be released on the PlayStation 4, Guillemot gave a quick and uninspiring answer in addition to his “It’s coming.”

“I don’t give comments anymore on BG&E2 because I think … the next time we communicate we have to have something new.”

It’s been nearly four years since we’ve seen any new content on the game, so I wonder what is holding Ubisoft back from having “anything new” over that time period. Has any progress been made over the years, does he need the generation jump to make his true vision come to life, or is Rayman proving to be too successful for Ubisoft to spare Ancel the time needed to make the game he truly wants?

So many mysteries surrounding this highly sought after title.
