The PlayStation 4 is not the only huge announcement to come from tonight’s massive Sony conference. What they really have in store for us tonight is not just a machine but rather the first true glimpse into the next generation of consoles. Once again, we will finally be allowed to use the phrase “next-gen” and have a decent idea of what it truly means.
And what’s more important to next-gen than the games? Seems like EA just couldn’t wait for the big surprise, and they’ve gone and teased us that one of their biggest franchises, Battlefield, will be headlining tonight. Will it be a full on Battlefield 4 or another fun romp with the knuckleheads in Bad Company 3?
EA and DICE recently showed off Battlefield 4 to Gamestop executives, and they were apparently blown away, so I’m leaning a bit towards that. Wouldn’t be strange to see Battlefield break the next-gen plane before Call of Duty does?
Anymore dream announcements you’d like to see? The Last Guardian comes to mind.
