Microsoft’s Surface Pro, which just recently went on sale, has been a hard item to come by thus far. Whether that’s because of low supply or huge demand—it sounds like a bit of both—remains to be seen. However, the device should become available soon. Like now.
According to Panos Panay, head of the Surface team, 64GB Pro models are currently shipping to Best Buy, Staples and Microsoft retail locations, while the 128GB Pro model should be available at Best Buy and Microsoft stores by Saturday. Not the longest wait—the device was announced last summer, so people have waited this long—but certainly a minor annoyance.
It’s still unclear how many initial units have been sold now that the Surface Pro is available, but there seems to be obvious demand. “We’re working hard to restock so we can reach as many customers as soon as possible” Panay said.
