Excellent PBS Off Book Series Explores the World of Competitive Gaming

By | 2

What was once a market people participated in for leisure—to escape—gamers now compete in actual tournaments—for money, pride and bragging rights. PBS’s excellent Off Book series explores the world of competitive gaming, and the four main genres that dominate the landscape (shooters, RTS, MOBAs, and fighters). Who said video games were a waste of time? Many people have been making good money as professional gamers for years. This documentary explores that world, and the incredible stakes behind a simple fighting game.
