Sony and Sanzuru Games reached out to Ghostbot, an animation studio, to do the 2D cutscenes in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. To deliver a taste of what’s to come when the game releases, the PlayStation Blog posted a full short from Sly Cooper done up by Ghostbot.
It’s a cool little clip that feels like something we used to watch on Cartoon Network or during a Saturday morning haze of cereal and pajamas. That’s exactly what this series needs, if you ask me, as it lends itself perfectly to a cartoon take.
Remember, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is part of Sony’s Cross-Play offerings. Buy it on the PlayStation 3 and you can play it on the PS Vita, and you’re saves will travel between devices. Also, make sure you buy it on the PS3 first; Sony’s giving those who by Sly on the PlayStation 3 a free voucher to download the full game on the PS Vita.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will release for the PS Vita and PlayStation 3 on February 5th, 2013. Hey, that’s next week!
