HTC announced a new device for Taiwan on Friday dubbed the Desire U. The Android smartphone is relatively low-end, especially in comparison to HTC’s recent DROID DNA powerhouse, and includes the following specs:
- 1GHz processor
- 4GB of storage
- microSD card slot
- 4-inch 800 x 480-pixel display
- 512MB of RAM
- 1,650mAh battery.
The phone is clearly being targeted at Taiwan’s entry-level market and we doubt we’ll see an iteration hit the United States, especially because we already have free phones on contract that offer beefier specs. We imagine we’ll be able to take a closer look at Mobile World Congress next month.
