Nokia: 808 PureView Was Our Last Symbian Device

By | +

Nokia 808 PureView

Well at least Symbian is going out with a bang. Buried under Nokia’s earnings report, the company quickly mentioned that the 808 PureView “was the last Symbian device” from the company. Ever. And so goes the company’s commitment to an even brighter Windows Phone 8 future.

Nokia did quite well in Q4 2012, selling 4.4 million Lumia devices. For a company who hasn’t seen profits for a long, long time, that’s a pretty positive period of sales. It’s nowhere near the 47.8 million iPhones Apple sold, but it’s good nonetheless. Are the tides turning for Nokia? It seems its Windows Phone 8 gamble is starting to pay off.

So long Symbian, Nokia won’t miss you.
