A new rumor suggests Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.8 update will hit on Jan. 30, less than a week away—at least on AT&T. WPCentral allegedly acquired an internal AT&T document outlining the whole process, a 100MB update, for the Lumia 900. For users who haven’t had the opportunity to purchase a Windows Phone 8 device, this is the next best thing. It’s about time.
Aside from support for Live Tile resizing, Windows Phone 7.8 will also introduce new color options, lock screen improvements, a tweaked Marketplace, and your more typical fixes and enhancements. At this point, it’s unclear how updates—or when they’ll hit—will be handled for other devices. In any case, watch out for the Jan. 30 date is it edges closer.
