According to a new study, HDTVs are becoming the leading way to consume Netflix Watch Instantly videos.
The NPD Group recently conducted a study of how people are consuming Netflix. At 25 million users in the U.S., it’s about time how we see people are using it, and HDTVs are winning by a landslide. Of course, this matched up with another recent study that showed OTT (over the top) video viewing is about the only thing people do with their HDTVs app wise, but this really backs it up.
Also of note is this study shows some interesting facts about the ages and genders of those using Netflix. Women are the dominant gender in everything but smartphones, and the number of users between 35 to 54 is growing. Those between the ages of 18 and 34 still rule the roost except on tablets.
In short, it appears everyone loves Netflix and will find a way to consume, but it is clear that TVs are going to remain the dominant way fo view videos for some time to come.
