Samsung Galaxy Tab Family Doesn’t Infringe on iPad Design Patents, Dutch Court Rules

No, the court battles between Samsung and Apple aren’t over yet, but at least one of them is coming to an end. A Dutch court ruled recently that Samsung’s family of Galaxy Tab tablets in the lawsuit, which includes tablets with screen sizes ranging from 7.7-inches to 10.1-inches, doesn’t infringe on Apple’s iPad design patents.
“We continue to believe that Apple was not the first to design a tablet with a rectangular shape and rounded corners and that the origins of Apple’s registered design features can be found in numerous examples,” Samsung said in a comment obtained by Reuters. It sounds like the courts agree.
