We brought a huge team to CES 2013 in Las Vegas to scour the show floor looking for the latest and greatest products that push the boundaries of technology. Remember, CES isn’t a show that’s focused on any single category. It’s not just about mobile, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners or blenders. It’s about all gadgets and the technology that powers them. It’s about highlighting and seeing the innovations that will hit the market in the coming months and years, create new competition among industry players and, eventually, benefit us as consumers. So what stood out to us? We’re proud to present the Best of CES 2013 award to the following product and the engineers, public relations teams, marketing professionals and everyone behind it.
Samsung’s OLED TV
Samsung announced a new TV at the Consumer Electronics Show that allows two people to watch two different shows. At the same time. No folks, this isn’t the old picture-in-picture technology that your parents had on their massive CRT televisions. It’s a new technology that’s part of the Samsung OLED TV that allows two viewers to watch different shows, each wearing a special set of glasses and headphones. That means you can watch Say Yes to the Dress while your wife watches Die Hard 3 (or the other way around?). It’s an amazing new technology, but we still don’t know exactly when the TV will launch, or how much it will cost. Either way, we’re blown away.
