Consumer electronics sales are expected to increase this year, if only by a hair. According to TWICE, sales are projected to increase to $209.5 billion, up 2.7 percent, or $203.9 billion from last year. While it’s just a tiny bump, it’s a fairly large increase from the $181.5 billion reported in sales in 2008.

As TWICE notes, the 2.7 percent bump is the smallest growth the consumer electronics industry has seen since 2009, when sales fell 6.5 percent. The informational technology sector is projected to be the most successful of all industries with $79.1 billion in sales this year, up from $72.9 billion last year.
