CD Projekt Red, developers of the popular Witcher series, is excited to show you their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077. So excited in fact that they just had to show off two new images to tease the fans waiting for something substantial from this exciting new title. With the trailer due later this week, fans don’t have to wait much longer.
Cyberpunk2077 is based on the original Cyberpunk pen-and-paper RPGs, and the developers promise to continue in the mature storytelling and deep role-playing tradition they established in The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The game will be set in the fictional Night City, an open-world sandbox where gamers can follow along a multi-thread plot with their customized character.
I am not so well versed in CD Projekt Red’s games. From what I heard about The Witcher, it’s a brutal and deep game not meant for those casually interested in dabbing with Western RPGs, like myself. If you are born of the Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic generation of RPGs, then I’ve heard that these will test your patience.
EDITOR’S NOTE: I loved The Witcher 2 and its mechanics. I’m looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077.
However, I am far more interested in Cyberpunk 2077 with its modern aesthetic and large variety of futuristic tools. A generic fantasy setting just doesn’t do it for me anymore like the way a generic science fiction setting does.
Check out the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 here once CD Projekt Red releases it. Not much else is known about the game so fa,r besides it being rumored to run on next gen technology. It has a release date of 2014 at the earliest to 2015 at the latest. See the gallery below for their teaser images.
