This summer Sprint will offer Windows Phone 8 devices made by Samsung and HTC, joining the other big three carriers here in the U.S. The carrier made a joint announcement with Microsoft on Monday—amidst the CES insanity—touting Sprint’s Truly Unlimited plans. Are you up for waiting a few more months for Microsoft’s burgeoning platform?

Sprint highlighted its “strong” relationship with Microsoft, and said this announcement was a long time coming. It’s unclear which devices Samsung and HTC will submit to Sprint’s lineup—Windows Phone 8X? ATIV Odyssey? Samsung’s device will hit Verizon, so perhaps it’s also ready to hit Sprint as well.

Once availability edges closer, Sprint will divulge full details, the carrier said, including price and exact release dates.
